IT HAD BEEN A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT

 when thunder clashed with the sky Claudio woke up out of fear from his bed. His skin had became damp from sweating. He had, had a night mare of the night before. A memory that replayed in his fragile mind.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

It was a dark and stormy night At 7:40pm. Claudio and Miss Nancy had headed their way to the main entrance lobby to wait for Claudio's mother as they did every day after her shift at the O'Leary's pub. As usual she had been running late. In the sickly cream colored lobby was a green couch that Claudio and Miss Nancy would sit and wait for Claudio's mother arrival. It was about 8:20pm when Miss Nancy began nodding off and snoring. A few minutes had passed and the bell above the entrance door began to jingle. Someone was about to enter the building. Happy to see his mother Claudio watched the door with content. however, it was not his mother, instead it was a girl.

Claudio had never seen this girl before, looked to be in her late teens early twenties. The girl was average weight for her height, her hair was in a bun that was slightly messy and had electric blue strands of color, and she wore dark clothing. She looked as she could scenes something was lingering in the lobby hall way  leading to the elevators. infatuated and curious of this character, Claudio decided to tiptoe from miss Nancy and quietly follow this girl.

Would she take the stairs or elevator  he began to think to him self. As he did so the girl passed the stair way walked over the two elevators. One elevator had worked but the other had not. Pressing the button the girl crossed her arms as she waited for the elevator. Claudio had decided to hide under the a table in the hallway he was shy when it came to meeting new faces. He watched as the girl stepped in to the elevator. Secure that the cost was clear he crawled out from his hiding spot.

After she had left he began to dust off the dirt and dust from his clothing when something strange began to happen. The light to the elevator that did not function began to flash... Claudio had known a few things about this elevator from the stories Miss Nancy would tell him. He knew that the elevator had stopped working the year 1996. However every time he ask Miss Nancy as to why it had stopped working  she had always avoid the question by bringing up something completely irrelevant to the topic.

The light continued to flash for about a minute and then stopped. Chills and goose bumps grew across Claudio's small body. In a little panic Claudio quickly crawled under the table again. He was freezing at this point and began rubbing his arms. with slight curiosity he poked his head from the table and waited to see what was to come...

The doors to the elevator slowly creaked open.  The air was soon flooded with a putrid smell. This smell was soon followed by a figure creeping out from the elevator... The figure's skin was a sickly pale color,  it wore a dirty pale yellow dress and ruby red shoes, and looked to be a young female who was looking at the ground when she stepped out side the elevator. She looked to be around Claudio's age. frightened Claudio hid back under the table. The figure began to weep as it unknowingly walked past Claudio.

"kitty, kitty where are you" it said as it made it's way to the lobby.

Forgetting his fear, Claudio began to worry about Miss Nancy, he had a gut feeling that this figure could not be trusted. When the figure got to the entrance door it halted. With haste and desperation he ran over to Miss Nancy. He watched as the figure stood silently at the door. The figure's neck soon made the noise of cracking bones and  it's head made a three sixty degree turn as it turned to face Miss Nancy and Claudio.

"Have you seen my kitty" it asked in a very horrifying voice.

With widen eyes, Claudio, shook his head left and right as he hugged Miss Nancy's leg. the figure let out a loud a sad scream as it turned it's head back to face the door. The figure then proceeded  quietly weeping and walk through the door.

Startled Miss Nancy woke up. it was 8:40pm when Claudio's mother finally arrived. When she did she noticed a few strands of white hair in Claudio's hair. She figured it had been flower in his hair and assumed Miss Nancy and he had been baking

" looks like this little hero needs a bath"
she said with a smirk.

without a word Claudio ran over to his mother and gave her a tight hug.

The beginning

                                               

     Claudio's day started out with very little light. His neighbors in the apartment complex were yelling at each other. Soon after all the yelling stopped. Claudio's mum came into my room with a candle light in one hand and a lighter in the other, to check on him.
As she slid through the partly opened door he notice how tall and thin she was ,my head almost comes up to her waist, her hair is blonde, shoulder length and shiny.
Claudio was five years of age, he had brown hair and brown eyes  he wore marvel themed pjs.
 Flat 616 was where He and his mother  lived.

    Claudio couldn't tell what time it was because the alarm on his nightstand had no electricity and it need electricity to light the red numbers inside it. Mum set the candle on the night stand and began to explain why the light stopped working.

"A power outage is what it's called." she explained. "the strength of nature took away our electricity"
she said with a smile.
she then turned and said something underneath her breathe
" either that or some bastard in the apartment complex caused the power to go for a little while",
"Light or no light you still have to get ready to go to miss Nancy's. You know you cant keep her waiting you're her best friend"

Claudio nodded his head in agreement because Miss Nancy, was our next door neighbor and she lived alone in flat 676. She was a heavy set elderly lady that wore big round glasses.
 She took care of Claudio when his mother is off  at work.

Claudio got up from his bed and threw on his yellow t shirt, blue jeans, and old sneakers. He then proceeded to walk over to his night stand and lift the candle his mother had left behind. Claudio was full of excitement to see Miss Nancy so he decided to race to the kitchen. He attempted to avoid running into the wall and table edges.

"Claudio Ramsey, if you don't bust you're head from running or falling in the dark like that, then I'll do it for you. You better stop running"

 Claudio decided to stop running. Instead he decided to climb the wooden chair at the round dining table and place the candle in the center of the table. He didn't like upsetting his mother but at the same time he didn't like not pretending he was a race car or a super fast hero like  X-man speeding along in the night of day.

After about ten seconds of sitting and waiting for his cereal he became bored of sitting in the wooden chair at the dining table so he decided to stand and announce " I am X-man here to bring the electricity back".

"Great" said his mum, as she handed him a bowl of cereal "and I'am your mother, now sit down and eat your cereal. "

Defeated Claudio sat back down and began eating his cereal. After he had finished he lifted his bowl  above his head and announced  "I finished my cereal'. he then said "Now I'am ready to finish the bastard who caused the power out..."

He was then cut off by his mum who looked at him as if she had seen a ghost and said, "Claudio, can you please tell me where you learned that vocabulary?"

Proud that he had learned a new word he decided to remind her that she had in fact been the one that taught him the word. However she suddenly seemed disinterested in what he had to say when she checked the time on her flip phone.
She seem even more surprised. Claudio could tell that she had been surprised because she yelled,"Seven forty seven" so loudly that the neighbors underneath them banged on their ceiling with a broom. Quickly she gave Claudio a kiss on the fore head, handed him his yellow back pack and walked him over to miss Nancy's flat.
